Uh...this thing on?

[Unknown to Jaime, the device actually is on, but nothing can be seen. Only his voice can be heard, and it's pretty easy to tell he's rather confused, maybe even a little panicked. Moments later, the video finally clicks on, revealing a dark-haired young man with a confused look that matches his voice.]

Finally! Okay, is anybody there? [A pause. He debates on whether or not he should call the team out, considering anybody could be out there...like the Light or something. Who knows? On top of that, his scarab's not working, so he's sure things could get bad fast. Still couldn't hurt to try!]

Nightwing? Impulse? Robin? Anybody? What's going on? Where exactly are we...if we're all here anyw—

[When he looks off to the side for a moment, as something else caught his attention, his face shifts from confused to extremely freaked out once he sees what it actually is.]

—dios mio! You again? Why's a monster beetle following me around everywhere?!

[The camera's suddenly really shaky, but the view finally shifts to a Heracross moving toward the camera. It looks friendly enough and hasn't tried attacking him since he's been here. Said monster beetle actually looks kind of cool, but that's not the point here. To Jaime, cool-looking or not, beetles shouldn't be that big, and he doesn’t have his gear to fight it off, so he’s really terrified and his next step is to bolt again. Never mind that it's actually his new partner or anything since he was the one who opened the pokeball.]

Okay. You called for me. You're Blue Beetle, but Kord's dead, and you also called for some guys named Nightwing and Impulse, who I've never heard of.

And I hear of everybody, almost.

You know about the team, but Beetle's not League affiliated. I think he's been on the short list before, but...

[What is he missing, what is going to connect this all together...]

Humor me. Tell me about the other people you mentioned, Nightwing and Impulse. Who are they? I need clues to figure this out.

Yeah. Basically, all of that. I called for you, but it turns out you're not who I was looking for.

Impulse is a speedster. The Flash's grandson and has no problem with going through other people's stuff. [He frowns briefly at that before moving on.] And Nightwing is the team leader. He was the first Robi--

[It took him a minute, but now he's finally got it, he thinks.]

[He sounds genuinely insulted by that.]

I can't be this Nightwing guy. Batman, maybe, if you really are a contemporary of Flash's grandson, but why would there be more than one me?

Yeah?

[OOPS? Okay, maybe it's best he doesn't mention that Batman had three Robins by the time he joined the team. Yeah, let's not bring him up.]

I know a Robin, but, uh...he's not you. I guess there's another Robin because you grew up? Or back down, apparently. And Impulse came from the future. Something like that.

[Is this what a migraine feels like?]

The fact that you know about the team is a pretty good indicator you're either one of us or one of the bad guys, not a civilian.

[What does growing up have to do with it? He'd always assumed he'd be Batman when he grew up, end of story. Not that he expects Bruce to retire (or worse) while he can stand, but...

Well, he supposes being "Robin, the Boy Wonder" would be awkward once he was 18 or so.

Considering we didn't even know about the Watchtower until Spee-- I mean, Red Arrow, but he was Speedy then -- told us, and he only got told because G.A.'s got no self-control... sounds good.

["Leeeader" do you say? Robin struggles not to grin at that, just not wanting to broadcast how much that pleases (validates) him.

Kind of a relief, though. Hearing you say I'm still with it.
